    Default No name, rechargeable card

    Hi,

I am looking for "no name" card for anonymous purchases on the Internet, which I can also reload, preferably by bank wire transfer. Is such a card exist in Italy?

On a separate note, I also ask if there is a Maestro card in Italy, which is designed for travel? Eg. good foreign exchange rates, good for international shopping, maybe some insurance against loss?

    Thanks!

Maybe here you can find what you are looking for: Banco di Sardegna.

For the other question, look at Carta Libra which offers a lot of travel insurance options for free.

This may look good. Is it better than the Postepay Reloadable Gift card? Can I load it with bank wire transfer?

The Postepay card can be loaded by 2500 Euros per year, but this one can be loaded on more occasions, with the only criteria is card balance cannot exceed 2600 Euros?

I try to locate the bank's phone number in international format on their website. Are all Italian banks so secretive? It's interesting. Why?

Thanks, it is a credit card. As I am non Italian resident it dose not apply for me. I am looking for strictly prepaid card.

Does Italian banks have Maestro Prepaid cards? In other European countries there are Maestro prepaid cards meant especially for travel. If you lose it abroad, you get fast replacement, good foreign exchange rates, etc. Do you have something like this in Italy?

If you need to recharge it with a wire transfer PostePay is not good because you can't do it...

I don't know if you can with Karica card because is not so clear on the website. I think it's possible only with ATM of the "Quimultibanca" circuit (Qui Multibanca - ATM finder dei servizi delle carte bancomat sul circuito delle Banche Popolari) or at the bank counter of de BPER group (Banca Popolare dell'Emilia Romagna).

But, PostePay can be used abroad, Karica don't...

    Exact

I relly don't think they have an international number...
Maybe you can write here and ask for some informations:

Ok, maybe i've found the cards for you.
The first one is a no name card, you can reload it (but not wire transfer...), is also a Maestro Card.
    More information: Carta Si Eura

The other one is new, is a MasterCard rechargeable card, you can reload with a bank money transfer, also from outside Italy, it's a no name card.
Here you have information in english:
    StellaCard MasterCard®

    Bye

So far this Stella Card looks best: they speak English and I can load it with wire transfer.

Carta Si Eura is not good if I can't load it with wires. I plan to use the card for traveling overseas.

Now I only have to look into the Banco di Sardegna / Banca Popolare dell'Emilia Romagna. Two separate banks, but they sell the exact same card?

    Thank you!

Do you have any prepaid card in Italy which is denominated in US Dollars, instead of Euros? Also for traveling.

Banco di Sardegna is a BPER's gruop bank so you can ask information directly to them.

I heard something about MasterCard Neteller.

    Thumbs up

Hi Ryan, I was looking for more or less the same card you need, and I bought a StellaCard. If you need more info, there is a guy named Andrea that is super nice and I think he will answer you if you send him a mail to andrea@stellacard.com

Another good thing of StellaCard is also that you have a free bank account given as a "present" with it, and it has the 10k limit as well (so you reach 10k +10k limit) plus you can have up to 5 StellaCards headed to the same person.

I used to use a Postepay, but sincerely now I don't feel comfortable with it any more because of too many limitations, expecially because you cannot recharge it by wire (Stellacard allows you to)

    Giuseppe,

If this is the Karica card you recommended:
BPERCARD - Divisione Consumer - Gruppo Banca popolare dell'Emilia Romagna
then it looks like an ATM card only, so no shopping with this card which I am looking for.

I don't think the Neteller card is good for anonymous online shopping. Though, they haven't replied to my question yet.

Gig_76, thanks for the Stellacard info. It is good to shop anonymously for EUR1000 or less per year, though, if I find a better solution, I am still looking.
